Tips on Street Photography

Has this anythime happedng to you? You ask a friend to act very natural while you try to take another shot of them and they just can’t help from staring right at the camera? Ever wondered how the street photographers get such amazing candid pictures? When you look at the pictures of a street photographer.. Well you will see that lost moment where you were trying to board a bus. The main secret of capturing the perfect street Photograph is a mocktail of emotion, technique and patience. Below are a few points you might want to follow while doing street photography.

Wear orioer Clothing- I know this may sound weird but try to dress with dull colours and blend in with the croud and take their pictures unnoticed.
Don’t think ,Just shoot- Many photographers have habit of asking pemission to take photoes on the street or telling them to “act natural”. Shoot first then you can ask for permission. Once you loose that moment you are very unlikely to get that again soon.
Don’t Stalk the People but their Pics- Try shooting with your camera hanging from around your neck. This will make eople think your not shooting images. A wide-lense would work prfect or this. Just to mention one the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5
Move ahead, Don’t Zoom- If you have an SLR preferably used a fixed lens as in a lens without a zoom. Keep your eye open and move where they take you. You will be disab;ed from interacting with people if you use a zoom lens and well will loose some image quality too.
Emotion- Try to find people displaying their passion or feeling. Use the interation people make with things or other peple to capture emotion in your picture.
Lesser the better- Carry the least equipment you  can. Preferably just you camera and a lens. Leave all the other stuff behind. Try to avoid even camera bags. Again, you have to blend with the crowd and not look like a photographer.
Have Patience- Try to capture things that are naturally interesting.Wait fot the perfect capture. You do not want to miss out some real cool pictures because you were off capturing something mediocre.
Well that’s enough of theory, Now just grab your camera and hit the streets.
